Brass Trivet - Moon

This beautiful solid brass trivet is handmade in Japan and shaped to represent the moon. A functional piece of art, the brass trivets look fantastic sat on a kitchen counter top and are designed to protect your kitchen work surfaces from hot pans, baking trays, serving dishes, teapots or kettles. Not your average kitchen accessory, these special brass trivets look stunning when not in use and save your kitchen or table worktop when needed. The trivets can also be used on kitchen tables and dining tables to protect the surface from similar hot pans, teapots and serving dishes or just as a design feature on which to place your serving bowls and platters.

The trivets were Designed by Oji Masanori and are handmade by a Japanese brass foundry, Futagami. The foundry has a long history and wealth of knowledge in their craft having been founded in 1897 to specialise in the production of brass homewares.

Individually handcrafted, the solid brass trivets have a crude casting surface, three silicon feet to avoid scratching any surfaces and measure 13cm in diameter by 1.2cm in height. The moon trivets feature on off centre circular pattern representing the moon. As with other brass products, the trivets will gradually change their colour over the course of many years due to oxidisation. The longer they are used, the richer and subtler they become. The brass trivets can be enjoyed by you and future generations for many years to come.
